Northend United 4 Cliftonville Colts 1 Saturday 28th October 2017
Northend United U11s have had a good start to the season and this week entertained the Solitude Reds. Missing a few players due to holiday and sickness, Jackson Greer filled in as goalkeeper and Robert Crooks at centre-back and both gave a good account of themselves in this end to end match.
Northend started this game on the back foot and conceded a goal in the second minute. Cliftonville controlled the start of the match, closing down Northend and preventing them from playing their passing game of football. After the first ten minutes, Northend began to claw their way back into the game with Lewis McDonald and Charlie McIlhatton dominating the central midfield play. Clodagh Maguire and Calvin Termonia on the Northend wings were causing the Cliftonville defence all sorts of problems. On sixteen minutes Termonia stepped up to smash a free-kick past a helpless Cliftonville keeper and Maguire went on to score Northend's second goal in the first half. Half time 2-1
Into the second half and the Wee Blues were solid at the back and let the ball do the work. Cliftonville could not deal with the attacking movement and fast passing of McDonald, Termonia and Maguire going forward. Gary Kenny played great on his debut but never got the goal he deserved for his hard work. Midway through the half, Calvin Termonia scored another free kick, this time into the bottom corner. The game was put to bed on the 41st minute, when McDonald played a through ball out to Termonia, who slotted the ball past the Reds keeper to complete his hat-trick. Full time 4-1

Northend United 2 Don Boscos 1 NIBFA Plate Saturday 21st October 2017
Northend had home advantage in this Northern Ireland Boys FA Plate match at the Showgrounds against Maiden City based Don Boscos team. The Ballymena Blues started off on the front foot and for the first 15 minutes dominated the play. They should have been two goals ahead before they finally opened the scoring on eighteen minutes, when following some good interchange play between Lewis McDonald and Robert Crooks, McDonald played Calvin Termonia in to slot the ball past the Don Boscos keeper.
However, the Blues became complacent towards the end of the first half and allowed a well-drilled Boscos side back into the game, with a goal just before half time. Half time 1-1
Into the second half and Don Boscos continued on where they left off in the first half and took the lead in the match. This prompted Northend to change their tactics and go two at the back and push more forward in this cup match.
Peter Finnegan was to prove Northend's hero, when after coming on in the second half, he went on to score a goal for the Blues, to bring them level in the game. This goal lifted the Northend team and they could have scored a winner just before the end of the match when Lewis McDonald went close with a good shot. Full time 2-2
In the penalty shoot-out, Northend came out on top, with goals from Calvin Termonia and Peter Finnegan and some super goalkeeping from Dylan Glass, seeing Northend through to the next round.

Northend United 0 Coleraine Academy 2 NIBFA Cup 7th October 2017
This was a great game of football between two well matched sides, involving end to end football.
Coleraine started the brighter for the first 15 minutes, getting a couple of shots on target to the Northend goal but Dylan Glass was in top form and saved both.
As play swung from end to end, Coleraine were awarded a free-kick on the stroke of half time and their striker planted the ball in the bottom corner of the Northend net, giving Dylan Glass no chance. Half time 0-1
Into the second half and Northend started the brighter, pressing Coleraine in their own half, with Lewis McDonald and Charlie McIlhatton not giving the Coleraine defenders any time on the ball. Peter Finnegan came off the bench for Northend and was causing the Coleraine defence all sorts of problems. Coleraine scored a second goal before the Blues came storming back in the final minutes of the game. The Coleraine keeper impeded Peter Finnegan just outside his penalty area and Lewis McDonald stepped up to smash the free-kick against the Coleraine crossbar and it rebounded to safety. It just wasn't going to be Northend's day! Full time 0-2

Hillsborough Juniors 3 Northend United 5 Shield Saturday 30th September 2017
Northend 2007s progressed to the 2ns round of the Lisburn League Shield competition with a good win over Hillsborough Juniors. The young Northend team continue to play good attacking football, coupled with some tight defending. Northend threatened the Hillsborough goal all game with hard work from Lewis McDonald and Charlie McIlhatton urging the Blues forward from midfield.
Robert Crooks and Calvin Termonia were having great games down both Northend wings and Peter Finnegan was excelling in his new centre forward role, holding up the ball and bringing the midfield into the game.
Two defensive errors allowed Hillsborough to pull two goals back, but with the Hillsborough keeper in top form, pulling off three excellent saves, it was always going to be a good Northend display.
Scorers for the Blues were Calvin Termonia, Peter Finnegan, Lewis McDonald, Jackson Greer and Daire Higgins

Another good performance from the Baby Blues team, this time against Antrim side, Chimney Corner. The Blues settled well and played some high-energy football. Pleasing for the coaches is the way this team are replicating what they learn in training on match day. Super passing and movement typifies how this team plays.
Scorers for Northend on the day were Calvin Termonia (2), Charlie McIlhatton and Jackson Greer.

Playing in their first match in the Lisburn Youth League, Jack Stewart opened the scoring for Northend when he converted a rebound off the Hillsborough keeper.
The Blues were playing some great football at this stage in the game and Calvin Termonia doubled the scoring when he converted with a diving header from a Harry Livingstone cross. Lewis McDonald scored a third goal for Northend when he volleyed past the Hillsborough keeper from a Jack Stewart pass.
Cruising in this game, the Ballymena lads took their foot off the pedal and allowed Hillsborough to pull two late goals back.
